Video footage has been released showing an Israeli policeman wearing a helmet and headbutting an apparently unarmed Palestinian woman.
Police have been forced to open an external investigation after the film was released by B’Tselem, an Israeli human rights group, who said one of their researchers captured the footage on November 5.
The confrontation occurred as protesters in east Jerusalem tried to prevent the demolition of homes erected without the proper permits in the neighbourhood of Silwan.
