Comments for Congo in Limbo

These incredible photos were taken by Cédric Gerbehaye, who received Amnesty International UK’s photojournalism award earlier this year. They document rarely seen moments spent with the Congo's rebel militia in a dark, yet beautiful way.
But your right, black and white always hides peaces of information.
We're used to complete them the way we've learned in history lessons in school or wherevere.

But as we learned in the past conflicts, realistic pictures/films of inhumanity didn't change to much. The responsibility for reacting to those photos is always up to the reader.

Still it is a romantic view of photography that could be necessary to keep the photographer alive while seeing all this things in real … maybe!

Nevertheless absolutely great and important photos!

I think their only weakness is that their beauty detracts from the horrors that are taking place, while the fact that they are in black & white almost makes one think of those moments as though they belong to the past...if only.
