I certainly wasn't advocating torture or eternal damnation. I was commenting on, get this, the violence and condemnation seen throughout the blog posts. In fact, I'm rather sure my post was the first such post. The comment you quoted to show how bad the previous comments were, was my analogy as to how bad the previous comments were.

Aspidistra Comstock: thanks for your comment. I'm not going to let myself get sucked into anything. And the comments of a lynching mob didn't shock me, but I wanted to draw the attention to their aggressivity anyway. The comments show a lack of education, ignorance and narrow vision and these always cause problems in a long term, not mentioning that they have no effectiveness and so energy that could have been used for bringing the police and FBI towards the justice is wasted.

And re to your 'It is hard to think of the perpetrator in a humane and balanced way when you consider what the victim has been through.'
You are against child abuse, you are compassionate with the victim but you can still express yourself in a humane and balanced way about the case. And I doubt that you'd waste your time on a website like that, competing whose comment is going to be more 'juicy' ..

One thing is what they say in the moment because they might feel offended but other thing is that these people will have the power and the will to do whatever they say. And another thing... I think what is really alarming here is how useless the police and the law stand in front of the society but of course, as long as you guys follow the rules there´s no problem but what happens when the law and the police department as well don´t even know how to keep a rule and hence, they turn out to be a the "BAD example" for all the people. Instead of being just surprised or concerned about people's comments and the sick guy who has been haunted, you should also be asking the COPS a lot of questions too.
