Demand rights for Turkish workers

Thank you to everyone who took the action. The petition will be presented to Turkey's Labour Minister later in Spring 2012.

About this petition

Workers in Turkey are denied fundamental rights.

Despite constitutional changes, there continue to be limitations to the right to strike. In the private sector the right to organise and form trade unions falls short of international standards.

Some public employees still do not to have the right to join or form trade unions or to bargain collectively. The right to strike is denied to all civil servants.

The International Labour Organisation (ILO) has issued guidance on how Turkey can bring its labour laws into line with their Core Conventions on the right to organise, the right to strike and the right to bargain collectively but these reforms have yet to be implemented.

We are calling on Turkey's Labour Minister to grant Turkish workers their fundamental labour rights. Please sign our petition.
