What people are saying about Chen Guangcheng

  • We live on the precipice of an opportunity, this large and important country, with its economic clout could be for us a show case of people power for human rights. The western news has reported recently that people in China have had enough of their Government Policies about their land and how they are treated and denied their rights for education, fair trial and justice and a living wage. I hope we can and will protest and protect those right for them as they rise to take them themselves.

  • Ive just been ask to be the Asian representative and our group in Bolton have adopted Chen Guangcheng and his wife plight. I ask that all member to actnow, I can believe that a modern country like China can still trade and be accepted to UN without any sanction placed upon them to conform to the Declaration of human Rights. It is as if the International Political communities have buried their heads in the sands over the abuses that China commit against Human Rights, it was in the news a little awhile ago when they hosted the 2008 Olympic game and many people protested, Steven Spielberg refuse to direct the opening ceremonies and many more tried to bring attention to the appalling human rights abuse. I say the window of opportunity has not been closed and Chen Guangcheng is the reason why!!!!, many people in China has to live in survival means due to slave wages and sweatshop existence, I ask that your download the background info and send it to your MP asking him to raise again the human right issue of China again and again. If this country as the Biggest economy in the world is allowed to carry on without changing the attitudes to the vital important of Human Rights I feel it will be a sad day for the rest of the world in the fights for rights to live with those human inalienable rights we love so much. Write as individual and as groups don't let this opportunity go by, as China grows power we have to remember how they became powerful on the abuse of their people.

  • I lived in China for 3 years, and support absolutely these campaigns. I am sure those listed here are the tip of the iceberg. The Chinese government most certainly needs pressure put on it.
