i can't imagine like this cruel actions Israeli government that it is totally out of human right even though anyone of intelligent in Israeli couldn't accept this
in-humanitarian. and other whole world human social societies.
I am amazed who silent the world and Amnesty are regarding Shalit. He is imprisoned, no organisation is allowed to visit him and he is rotting and no one seems to care. It is obvious from the film that he is frightened and very slim. 5 years in captivity and even the France (he has dual nationality) has not intervened to free him. How come? they managed to free the majority of journalists who were kidnapped in Iraq where there are many groups and the difficulty is to know who is holding whom; France chose to ignore Shalit despite knowing who is holding him.
Where in liverpool were the protests?

View all comments (7 more)Nullico clearly is missing the point because we utterly know that the bbc is kosher on this and the british government are just doing what they always do; say one thing and do the opposite. Should he be surprised that Gordon Brown said he wanted a cease fire whilst lobbying against such a thing ? Its politics as we know it, and don't we know it ! The guys in britain who want to sell arms to anyone will go on doing that whatever we say, won't they ? As long as its the 'winning' side, why of course
Truly appalling and another example of how devalued Palestinian life is viewed from the Israeli perspective.
The Israeli actions show that they do not see the Palestinians as people, and deny them basic human rights and respect. They are doing the same as was done to them, as a people, during the 1940s. How they cannot see this amazes and saddens me.
Diplomacy has so far failed. Any criticism of Israeli policies is seen as criticism of the Israeli state. What options are there to help the Palestinian people?
What Israel is doing in this case, is to deny the Palestinians a basic right under International Law. Irrespective of differences each may have of the other, this deliberate denial of water is an offence to humanity and should be stopped with immediate effect.
I believe that if enough people protest about this matter, it can make a huge impact on such a policy pursued by Israel. The British government has a part to play also and should be active in persuading Israel to abandoned this illegal action.
Such a magnificient speech!! Kudos! I never knew there were such noble people in British parliament.
What is being done to Palestinians today equals a genocide! How inconceivable that in the 21st century the international community is idly standing by while our fellow humans have to suffer from misery deliberately inflicted upon them by others. We all need to do something urgently to stop this injustice! The US should stop its unconditional support to Israeli government! Hopefully the Israeli civil society will hold its government to account for inhuman actions in Gaza and West Bank. Thanks to activists such as Amnesty, global awareness about the real situation on the ground is raising despite the carefully crafted propaganda and the day is approaching when the Israeli government will not be able to get away with this.
They've always basked in the "wetook them out" PR front....guess they want to scare the opposition but in reality, it only gets people's backs up and puts fire in the belly of the terrorists/Hamas/Fatah. All so very counter productive to an idiot like me!
